Random Wisdom Thought by Zev Lavon - as requested by many of my colleagues, friends and family
Today's thought.
7 July 2021. Architecture of Information System is lagging behind Architecture in its maturity of understanding of tools, functions, construction resources and more.
In essence, the body of knowledge of Architecture encompasses Use (by people), Function (purpose), Environment, Durability (over time), Flexibility (adoptability), and more.
I am devoting my time, every day, in an effort to study Architecture (mostly on-line) and slowly develop a body of knowledge around Information Systems Architecture - borrowing terms and concepts from Architecture and reflecting on them within the Information Systems Architecture.
A minor example: in Architecture - Capacity (number of people that the building can contain), is strongly linked to considerations of access and retreat (see the Coliseum in Rome, and the design of Ball Parks and Stadiums). When we (IT) design a system we need to think (similarly) - as to how many people can be in the Application at the same time, but also consider the capacity to allow that many people to enter (and leave safely! - in case of disaster), in a short time period. - that was today's thought. :)
##virtualcareforward 22 July 2021 On an Enterprise level, Virtual Care requires re-architecting the whole system - from the way the sessions are recorded (as they should be), automatically transcribed (as they should) and summary conclusions (using A.I.) proposed. The use of enabling technology should be embedded into this new practice of care delivery. Very few organizations are taking a holistic view of this new paradigm.
